Scores from Evans, McLaughlin mean the match ends level at full time

CARY, N.C. – North Carolina FC and Greenville Triumph SC played to a 1-1 draw at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday evening. In a match statistically dominated by North Carolina, the home side was unable to complete the comeback victory after going down a goal early in the contest and going up a man in the 67th minute.

Venton Evan opened the scoring for Greenville as the 23-year-old winger sent in the ball from a tight angle to beat Nicholas Holliday in goal. Not long after, however, the do-it-all attacker for North Carolina, Garrett McLaughlin, intercepted a backward pass from Triumph SC and was able to send the ball into the back of the net for the equalizer in the 35th minute. While Triumph SC would lose Evan Lee to a second yellow in the 67th minute, the match would end level at full time.
