TUCSON, Ariz. - FC Tucson today announced the signing of forward Daniel Bloyou for the 2022 season. The deal is pending league and federation approval.

The 21-year-old Bloyou, who previously played collegiate soccer with Penn State, was selected by Major League Soccer club Atlanta United FC with the 75th pick in MLS SuperDraft 2022.

“I’m excited to be in an environment where the drive to win and improve each day is very high from the players and staff,” Bloyou said. “I’m looking forward to taking the pitch with the guys and helping in whatever way I can to win games and titles.”

In his final year with Penn State, 2021, Bloyou led the Nittany Lions with eight goals scored, was named to the United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American, earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team for scoring three goals and one assist in three games.

The Ghanaian native spent five seasons with Philadelphia Union Academy before college. He also featured for USL League Two sides Philadelphia Lone Star FC and Reading United AC during college.

“He has great pace, great athleticism, he’s creative in the final third and he has a great attitude towards the game,” said FC Tucson Head Coach Jon Pearlman. “He’s going to be able to provide us with some great moments this season as an attacking player.”
