GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC today announced the addition of two youth players to academy contracts for the 2022 season, pending league and federation approval. Patrick Cayelli and Selvin Altamirano are both Upstate high schoolers graduating in 2022.

Cayelli returns to the Triumph for his second season as an academy player after appearing in one match in 2021. He is a senior at T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, S.C. The midfielder is committed to play soccer at the University of Pennsylvania after being named one of the top soccer prospects in South Carolina for the class of 2022. Cayelli also plays club soccer at Carolina Elite Soccer Academy for the ECNL ‘04 team.

Altamirano is also returning for his second season as an academy contract. He is a senior at Eastside High School in Taylors, S.C. The forward earned All-Region and All-State honors for the Eagles in 2021. Altamirano is also a member of the CESA ECNL ’04 team, where he was voted All-Conference.

“We’re excited to bring Selvin and Patrick back in on academy contracts,” said head coach John Harkes. “They each have the quality to train and compete at the pro level, and it’s our responsibility to help create opportunities to foster education, training and development for elite youth players in the Upstate. They will be great additions for our team in 2022!”
