GREENVILLE, S.C. – Greenville Triumph SC announced on Tuesday it had signed forward Jake Keegan, bringing back one of the club’s original signings and a key contributor to the club’s 2020 USL League One title. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Keegan was the club’s leading scorer during its inaugural season and scored 14 goals for the club across 2019 and 2020. Keegan spent the 2021 season with fellow League One club Forward Madison FC.

“After a brief sabbatical, I can't wait to get back to playing in the Upstate,” said Keegan. “I've missed the players, coaches, community and playing in front of hands-down the best fans in League One. Life doesn't always give you second chances, so I could not be more thankful for the opportunity!”

A New York Native, Keegan played collegiately at Binghamton University, scoring 28 goals in 71 appearances. His professional career has featured two stints in Ireland, including helping Galway United earn promotion to the Irish Premier division in 2014. Keegan also spent two seasons with FC Edmonton before signing with Greenville in 2019 to begin his League One career.

Keegan tallied 1,862 minutes for Forward Madison in 2021, making 21 starts and scoring six goals in 22 total appearances. He is currently fifth on League One's all-time scoring list with 20 regular-season goals.

“We're excited to welcome one of our fan favorites, Jake, back to our club with open arms,” said Triumph SC Head Coach John Harkes. “His quality up front, mobility on and off the ball, ability to press the opposition, and finishing complement our team's style of play in the final third. He's also a consummate professional and understands our culture.”
