Kickers midfielder nicknamed La Maquina produced thunderbolt at North Texas to earn first in fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – The Richmond Kickers’ Zaca Moran has claimed the USL League One Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month award for October as his exceptional long-range finish against North Texas SC at Globe Life Park that helped deliver a key victory in Richmond’s playoff drive finished top of the poll conducted over the past weekend.

The 25-year-old native of Argentina, Moran joined the Kickers this season and was a mainstay in the club’s midfield throughout the season. His lone goal of the regular season was a memorable one, too, as late in the Kickers’ visit to North Texas on October 10 he sparked a late comeback for the visitors with a blistering first-time drive from 25 yards that ripped into the top-right corner of the net with nine minutes to go, setting up a 2-1 victory that helped Richmond reach the postseason.

Moran’s goal earned 63 percent of the poll conducted at USLChampionship.com to claim the award. Forward Madison FC’s Christian Enriquez finished second on 24 percent for his perfectly-placed free kick against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on October 30 at Breese Stevens Field, while Union Omaha’s Evan Conway finished third on 10 percent for his beautifully struck shot from distance against South Georgia Tormenta FC on October 1.
