GREENVILLE, S.C. – With second place on the line, Greenville Triumph SC and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC played to a scoreless draw in a potential playoff preview at Legacy Early College on Saturday night.
Chattanooga entered the match with a two-point lead over Greenville for second-place and the race for a first round bye will continue to the final week of the regular season.
Both sides appeared afraid to make a critical mistake in an extremely even match that only featured a total of one shot on goal. Chattanooga earned a slight edge in position with 50.6 percent of the ball. The Red Wolves outshot Triumph SC 8-5 and recorded the one shot on target.
The result means that a Chattanooga victory next weekend on the road against Forward Madison FC will secure the No. 2 seed for the Red Wolves.
Greenville visits North Carolina FC next weekend in its final regular season match.
