Kevin Politz's goal helped the Young Reds pull back into the playoff race

TORONTO - Toronto FC II earned an important 1-0 win over the New England Revolution II on Friday afternoon at BMO Training Ground.

Revs II controlled the ball early, but it was the Young Reds who opened the scoring in the 24th minute from a set piece. Luca Petrasso whipped in an excellent corner kick, which Kevin Politz rose to head into the net.

The visitors continued to have more of the possession throughout the match, but TFC II did well to prevent New England from creating many scoring opportunities. Ultimately, Politz's header held up as the winner, and Toronto pulled to within a point of the playoff line, snapping the Revs' three-game winning streak.

New England will now return home to prepare for a Tuesday matchup with Forward Madison FC, while TFC II has the midweek off before traveling to take on Chattanooga Red Wolves SC next Saturday.
