A late breakaway goal from Justin Rennicks gives Revolution II the 1-0 win over Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - In a true battle of the keepers, New England Revolution II comes out on top against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Justin Rennicks.

Chattanooga came out of the gate quickly, forcing Revolution II goalkeeper Joseph Rice to make three big saves within the first 15 minutes of play. Rice was on his game throughout the 90 minutes, keeping his team in the game despite the constant pressure from the Red Wolves.

The game was evenly matched in terms of possession, but Chattanooga constantly had the upper hand in the attacking side of the game. Despite the 12 shots and 10 chances created, the Red Wolves were unable to find the back of the net.

As the game began to dwindle and a scoreless draw seemingly inevitable, a cleared ball of a Red Wolves' corner kick landed to New England's Connor Presley. Presley passed the ball off to Rennicks, who bounded up the wing of the pitch from his own half to the box of the opposing side with no defenders able to catch him. Rennicks was able to put the ball, and game, away with a shot just past the hands of the keeper to give New England the win away.

New England's next fixture is a home matchup with Forward Madison FC on Friday, while Chattanooga will make the trip to Virginia to face the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, October 2.
