Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - A late equalizer from Marco Micaletto saw South Georgia Tormenta FC earn a 2-2 draw against Fort Lauderdale CF on Sunday night at DRV PNK Stadium.
Fort Lauderdale got off to a great start thanks to Mitchell Curry, who scored the game's opening goal after Shaan Hundal set him up in the 13th minute.
Tormenta would draw level with a brilliant bit of combination play between Azaad Liadi and Marco Micaletto nine minutes later, as the latter played in the former with an eye-catching back heel pass.
But FTLCF's attack was not to be denied, and restored its lead before halftime thanks to a stunning curler from George Acosta.
As the game wore on, it looked as though the hosts would hold on and claim the three points. Tormenta's Marco Micaletto had other ideas though, planting a beautiful floating header in the back of the net during the game's closing moments to ensure his team took home a point.
Both teams are back in action next Friday, with FTLCF traveling to take on Greenville Triumph SC and Tormenta playing its final home game of the season against Union Omaha.
