New England defeated the Kickers for the first time in four meetings this season

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution II came back from an early deficit to defeat the Richmond Kickers 3-1 on Friday night at Gillette Stadium.

The Kickers got off to the perfect start thanks to Jonathan Bolanos, who latched on to a long ball from Zaca Morán and beat his man before firing home a powerful finish from close range in the third minute

But once Richmond took the lead, it was New England which had more of the ball and more of the chances, and Clint Peay's side got its reward half an hour after falling behind. Jake Rozhansky played a pinpoint cross into the box, and Justin Rennicks did well to head it beyond the reach of Kickers goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald and level the score.

Revs II then began the second half as their opponents began the first - with an early goal. Damian Rivera drove into the box and, despite a few Richmond defenders getting a touch on the ball, managed to squeeze home a finish to give his side the lead.

From there, New England did an effective job limiting opportunities for the visitors. A late insurance goal from Noel Buck sealed the result as Revs II claimed its first come-from-behind win of the season.

Both teams are back in action next Saturday, with Richmond hosting Toronto FC II and New England hitting the road to take on Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
