Three goals in a 16-minute span helped the visitors claim victory

STATESBORO, Ga. - Fort Lauderdale CF scored three times in 16 minutes to set the stage for a 4-2 win over South Georgia Tormenta FC on Saturday night at Erk Russell Park.

Hungry to avenge a heavy loss last weekend, Fort Lauderdale came out firing in the first half. Mitchell Curry set up Shaan Hundal to open the scoring in the 27th minute, and the visitors were only just getting started.

Eight minutes later, George Acosta double the lead with a precise finish to the bottom corner, then doubled his own tally just before the break with a strike from distance that squeezed past Pablo Jara in the Tormenta net.

In the second half, Fort Lauderdale was content to let South Georgia have more of the ball, but still nicked a fourth goal when Braxton Najib polished off a quick counterattack. Azaad Liadi got a pair consolation goals for the home side late on, but a valuable three points ultimately went the way of the Florida club.

Fort Lauderdale returns to action at home against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC next Saturday, while Tormenta will pay a visit to the New England Revolution II on Sunday, September 5.
