TORONTO - Toronto FC II and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC battled to a 0-0 draw on Friday afternoon at BMO Training Ground. The result means Chattanooga now owns the league record for the longest unbeaten streak, as the Red Wolves have gone 13 games without a loss.
The first half was a cagey affair, as the teams produced few genuine scoring opportunities and combined for just three total shots on target.
The second half saw more of the same, as a Chattanooga side missing many of its top players due to Canadian travel restrictions looked for a valuable winning goal to put distance between themselves and second-place Union Omaha in the table.
The Young Reds offered a threat of their own as well, hitting the post in the 82nd minute, but at the end of the day neither side could find the breakthrough, and the teams settled for a scoreless draw. The game marked just the second shutout of the season for TFC II, and the third for the Red Wolves.
TFC II is back in action next Friday, when the Young Reds venture to South Carolina to face Greenville Triumph SC. Chattanooga continues its road swing with a visit to Fort Lauderdale CF on Saturday, September 4.
