The young striker scored three times in his side's lopsided win

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A first half flurry saw FC Tucson cruise to a 4-0 victory over Fort Lauderdale CF on Sunday night at DRV PNK Stadium.

After failing to score in each of its last three matches, Tucson came flying out of the gates in south Florida, scoring three times in the opening 30 minutes. Gio Calixtro got things going in the sixth minute, polishing off an excellent team move with a smart finish to the far post.

Two goals in two minutes then helped the visitors create some real breathing room, as Charlie Dennis converted a penalty kick on 25 minutes before Calixtro scored his second of the match moments later.

In the second half, Calixtro rounded off his hat trick with a quality finish, completing a dominant Tucson attacking display which saw the visitors record their most lopsided win of the season thus far.

Both teams are back in action next Saturday. Fort Lauderdale hits the road to take on South Georgia Tormenta FC, while Tucson returns home to host Greenville Triumph SC.
