TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced Thursday that Richmond Kickers forward Emiliano Terzaghi has been voted USL League One’s Player of the Month Presented by Cleer Audio for July after recording five goals and six chances created in five games, leading his side to a 2-1-2 record during the month.
“It is always good to be recognized for work and it is an honor for me to represent my club,” said Terzaghi of winning the award. “For the remainder of the season, my focus is on continuing to grow as a group and seeking playoff qualification.”
The Argentine striker joined Richmond ahead of the 2020 season, and scored 10 goals for the Kickers on his way to being named League One’s Most Valuable Player last year. His nine goals so far this season put him joint-second in his pursuit of a second consecutive Golden Boot.
He began the month of July by tallying two goals in Richmond’s 3-2 win against North Texas SC, then scored a late equalizer in the following fixture against Fort Lauderdale CF. Terzaghi then scored in each of the Kickers’ final two July games, netting against South Georgia Tormenta FC and the winner from the penalty spot against FC Tucson.
Terzaghi’s five July tallies were scored at a rate of a goal every 86.8 minutes, and he also recorded an assist during that span.
Terzaghi received 56 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. FC Tucson midfielder Charlie Dennis finished second on 20 percent after leading the league in assists (three) and chances created (15) during July, while North Texas SC defender Kazu finished third on 13 percent as he recorded three goals and an assist.
