Two goals from Edward Kizza and one from Damian Rivera helped New England move into fourth place

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution II rolled to a 3-0 victory over North Carolina FC on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium, propelled by a pair of second half goals from Edward Kizza.

The Revolution II controlled the run of play throughout the first half, forcing a brilliant save from 15-year-old NCFC goalkeeper Nicholas Holliday early on before Ryan Spaulding hit the woodwork twice.

But their persistence would eventually pay off in the 33rd minute, when Damian Rivera weaved through the visitors' defense and scored to give New England the lead heading into halftime.

The home side wasted no time doubling its advantage on the other side of the break. A pinpoint cross from Colby Quiñones found the head of Kizza, who nodded the ball into the net to provide the Revolution II with some welcome breathing room.

Kizza then doubled his tally in the 74th minute, finishing a 1v1 chance after an excellent through ball from Hikaru Fujiwara to put the game beyond reach. The victory sees the Revolution II jump from seventh place up to fourth in the crowded middle of the League One standings.

NCFC has the weekend off before returning home next Tuesday to host Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. The Revolution II are back in action on Saturday, August 14 against the Richmond Kickers.
