Five nominees announced for 2021 season’s third Player of the Month award

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Thursday the five nominees for the Cleer Audio League One Player of the Month award for July, with top performers from the season’s third full month selected for the ballot.

Voting for the Cleer Audio League One Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLLeagueOne.com will comprise 60 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, August 9 at 12 p.m. ET.

  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 40 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, August 12.

Please note: The Cleer Audio League One Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL League One Player of the Month – July

Emiliano Terzaghi, Richmond Kickers – The reigning League One MVP was immense for his club in the month of July, scoring five times at a rate of a goal every 86.8 minutes. Terzaghi also tallied six chances created and one assist across Richmond’s five games.

Marios Lomis, Greenville Triumph SC – Lomis continues to light up the scoreboard this season. He scored four more goals in five July games to bring his tally for the year to a league-leading 12. The Dutch striker totaled nine shots on target during the month.

Charlie Dennis, FC Tucson – One of League One’s top creators this season thus far, Dennis registered more assists (three) and more chances created (15) than any other player in the league during the month of July.

Kazu, North Texas SC – Kazu tallied three goals and an assist in July, a rate of a goal every 80.7 minutes. His nine shots on target were tied with Lomis for the most of any player in the league during that span.

Marco Micaletto, South Georgia Tormenta FC – Micaletto continued to shine in Statesboro as he recorded three goals and an assist, won 8 of 9 tackles, and won 22 of 39 duels across four July games for Tormenta.
