Mitchell Curry's goal deep in second half stoppage time canceled out Noah Fuson's fantastic opener

MADISON, Wis. - An equalizer deep into second half stoppage time from Fort Lauderdale CF's Mitchell Curry canceled out a stunning strike from Forward Madison FC's Noah Fuson, as the two sides played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Breese Stevens Field.

The first half was a pedestrian affair, until Fuson lit up the match with a brilliant goal in the 39th minute. Picking up the ball on the left flank, Fuson drove at the Fort Lauderdale defense, cut inside on his right foot, and unleashed a vicious strike from the edge of the area which rocketed into the roof of the net.

Throughout the second half, Fort Lauderdale increased the pressure on Madison's goal, but the Flamingos' defense held firm. It looked as though the home side would walk out victorious, but the visitors had one last trick up their sleeves late on.

In the 10th minute of second half stoppage time, Mitchell Curry popped up with a wonderful volleyed finish to level the score, and the two sides split the points at the end of the evening.

Next up for FMFC is a road trip to Chattanooga to take on Red Wolves SC next Saturday. Fort Lauderdale will now return home and prepare to host North Carolina FC on Sunday, August 1.
