ARLINGTON, Texas - An equalizer at the death earned Chattanooga Red Wolves SC a 1-1 draw with North Texas SC on Saturday night at Globe Life Park.
Despite the fact that the teams boasted two of the highest-scoring offenses in the league coming into the night, they produced only a combined one shot on target in a pedestrian first half.
North Texas would get the breakthrough 12 minutes into the second half, though. A pinpoint cross from Derek Waldeck on the left flank found Nicky Hernandez, who planted home his header.
But as has become a recurring theme this season, Chattanooga would score late to get something from the game. With the last play of the night, Rey Ortiz whipped in a brilliant free kick, which was glanced in by Jackson Dietrich to stretch the visitors' unbeaten streak to seven matches.
Chattanooga will now return home to prepare for a meeting with Greenville Triumph SC next Saturday. North Texas has a two-week break before it travels to take on Union Omaha.
