South Georgia erased a two-goal second half deficit on the road to claim victory

GREENVILLE, S.C. - South Georgia Tormenta FC scored three times in 18 second half minutes to erase a two-goal deficit and earn an incredible 3-2 win over Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday night at Legacy Early College.

Triumph SC controlled more of the possession and created eight chances to Tormenta's one in the first half, and that pressure paid off just a few minutes before halftime. A recycled corner kick was sent back into the box by Greenville's Don Smart, and Brandon Fricke was there to tap it in following a bit of pinball in the six-yard area.

It wouldn't take long for the home side to double its lead. Three minutes after the break, Aaron Walker hit an excellent low first-time shot into the bottom corner, giving Greenville a cushion that lasted only a few moments.

In the 62nd minute, Marco Micaletto gave Tormenta life with a stunning strike, hitting a rocket into the roof of the net from about 15 yards out. Six minutes later, Luca Mayr - who picked up the assist on Micaletto's goal - leveled the game himself with a precise free kick.

Stefan Mueller then completed the comeback for Tormenta in the 80th minute, finishing well from a tight angle after a low cross from Azaad Liadi found him alone at the back post. South Georgia would hold on to its lead until the final whistle to secure the win.

Up next for Triumph SC is its second trip to Chattanooga this season to face Red Wolves SC on Saturday, July 24. Tormenta is back in action on the same day, when it will host the Richmond Kickers at Erk Russell Park.
