A match twice delayed by weather finished all square

RICHMOND, Va. - A late equalizer saw the Richmond Kickers earn a 1-1 draw with Fort Lauderdale CF on Saturday night at City Stadium.

Fort Lauderdale got off to a flying start by scoring six minutes into the game. An incisive move saw Shaan Hundal lay the ball off to Mitchell Curry in space, who made no mistake with the finish to give the visitors the lead.

Fort Lauderdale would hold on to the advantage through halftime, and inclement weather in the area forced a long delay to proceedings early in the second half. But once play resumed, the Kickers showed increased attacking intent, and the home team got its reward on 86 minutes.

An excellent bit of work from Richmond's Oalex Anderson on the left wing made space for a cross, which found Emiliano Terzaghi. The reigning MVP and Golden Boot winner tucked it away to equalize and earn the Kickers a point from the game.

Both teams are on the road for their next fixtures. Richmond will make the quick trip south for a midweek meeting with North Carolina FC this Wednesday, while Fort Lauderdale takes on Forward Madison FC at Breese Stevens Field next weekend.
