TAMPA, Fla. - USL League One announced Thursday that Chattanooga Red Wolves SC forward Juan Galindrez has been voted USL League One’s Player of the Month for June after recording three important goals for his team in just 123 total minutes on the field.

“Thank you very much to the people who supported me, and the team that’s here with me day in and day out,” said Galindrez of winning the award. “This is something very special for me and I wasn’t expecting it. I have to keep that great feeling and continue to grow within the club, and I hope to be Player of the Month again.”

Galindrez laid claim to the mantle of League One’s super sub with his flair for scoring late during the month of June. His first goal of the month was an 89th minute winner against FC Tucson, earning his side an important three points on the road.

The following weekend, Galindrez entered Chattanooga’s match against North Carolina FC in the 51st minute with his team trailing 1-0. The Colombian forward then scored in the 73rd and 88th minutes to provide the platform for the Red Wolves’ 3-2 victory. That heroic performance earned Galindrez League One’s Player of the Week award for Week 11 of the regular season.

“The goal for the rest of the year is to keep helping the club to the best of my abilities and win the league,” said Galindrez. “I also hope to continue to get better and end the season as the leading goal scorer for the league.”

Galindrez received 37 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. Union Omaha forward Greg Hurst and North Carolina FC midfielder Jay Tee Kamara finished tied for second on 20 percent each, while Toronto FC II midfielder Jayden Nelson finished fourth on 18 percent.
