FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - A hat trick from Marios Lomis lifted Greenville Triumph SC to a 3-0 win over the New England Revolution II on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.
It was a very open game through the opening stages, with both sides creating chances in bunches. Lomis would be the first player to put away one of those chances, breaking the deadlock in the 29th minute.
The Dutchman then doubled Greenville's lead just six minutes later, reacting quickest to a vicious Aaron Walker strike that rebounded off the crossbar. Lomis then scored his and Greenville's third goal of the game with a fantastic finish in the 83rd minute.
The hat trick - which brings Lomis to a league-leading 11 total goals on the season - sealed all three points in a dominant Triumph SC performance.
The Revolution II return to action on Friday, when the team will host Toronto FC II. Greenville heads back home to face North Carolina FC on Saturday.
