Ten-man Omaha extend unbeaten run to six straight games; Red Wolves now unbeaten in four straight games

PAPILLION, Neb. - An extremely tight contest throughout, Union Omaha and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC ultimately split a point after a first half goal from Omaha forward Greg Hurst was cancelled out by Red Wolves SC's Mark Hernández, who poked home an effort from close range to pull his side level.

Chattanooga held the advantage in possession with just over 58% in its favor while also holding a 16-6 advantage in shots and 5-1 in shots on target, but it was Omaha who struck first and held the advantage for the majority of the match. One of the season's Golden Boot frontrunners, Omaha forward Greg Hurst poked home from close range to give the hosts the lead in the 36th minute.

Over the course of the second half, Chattanooga maintained a consistent pressure and hit the posts a second and third time in its search for an equalizer. The hosts found themselves down a man when John Scearce, who provided the assist on Hurst's goal in the first half, was shown a second yellow card and sent off. As Chattanooga continued to knock at the door, heading into the first of what would ultimately be six minutes of stoppage time, though, the visitors found their breakthrough when a goalmouth scramble saw Mark Hernández punch in an effort from close range to secure a point.

Omaha has nearly two weeks off before hosting Forward Madison FC on July 16, while Chattanooga returns to action at home next week against FC Tucson.
