Mitchell Curry scored in the 89th minute as FTLCF beat Toronto FC II

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Mitchell Curry scored late to earn Fort Lauderdale CF a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC II on Saturday night at DRV PNK Stadium.

Fort Lauderdale took a lead into halftime thanks to an early goal by Josh Penn. George Acosta recorded his league-leading sixth assist of the season, feeding the ball to Penn before the forward cut inside and fired an accurate low strike to the far post.

As with the previous meeting between these two teams in south Florida, TFC II would equalize in the second half. Garrett McLaughlin drew the Young Reds level from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, the in-form striker's fifth goal of the season.

The game looked to be headed for a draw, but Curry popped up to score the winner for Fort Lauderdale in the 89th minute, earning the home side all three points on the night.

TFC II closes out the month of June with a visit to familiar foes South Georgia Tormenta FC on Wednesday, while Fort Lauderdale has an away meeting with FC Tucson next Saturday.
