South Georgia won its fourth-straight game, beating Triumph SC 3-1

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC kept its winning streak rolling on Saturday night at Erk Russell Park, beating Greenville Triumph SC 3-1 for its fourth-straight victory.

The red-hot South Georgia side scored twice before halftime, with Luca Mayr setting up teammates Lars Eckenrode and Nick O'Callaghan to give the home team a 2-0 lead heading into the break.

Greenville got right back in it at the start of the second half. Abdi Mohamed whipped in an excellent cross from the right flank, finding the forehead of Marios Lomis. The Dutchman made no mistake, burying the chance for his 7th goal in 8 games to bring Triumph SC within one.

But Tormenta's defense held on firmly to the lead, and Marco Micaletto sealed the win with an 83rd minute penalty kick.

Both teams are back in action on Wednesday, June 23. Greenville returns home for an intriguing midweek meeting with Forward Madison FC, while Tormenta will make the trek south to take on Toronto FC II.
