Toronto FC II midfielder tallied a goal and an assist against Fort Lauderdale

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty tallied a goal and an assist as Toronto FC II beat Fort Lauderdale CF 2-1 on Saturday night at the Young Reds' temporary home of Osceola Heritage Park.

A frenetic first half saw three goals in the opening 20 minutes. Fort Lauderdale took the lead through Josh Penn just four minutes into the game, but TFC II drew level 10 minutes later thanks to Marshall-Rutty.

Marshall-Rutty then turned provider, setting up Julian Altobelli with a smart low cross in the 19th minute. Altobelli coolly dispatched the chance to put the Young Reds in front.

Despite the frenzied opening, neither side would find the net again for the remainder of the game, and Toronto picked up the points to snap a seven-game winless run.

TFC II is back in action on Wednesday, when the Young Reds will welcome South Georgia Tormenta FC to Osceola Heritage Park for the second time this month. Toronto then heads to south Florida next Saturday for another meeting with Fort Lauderdale CF.
