South Georgia beat the Young Reds for the second time this week

STATESBORO, Ga. - On Sunday night at Erk Russell Park, South Georgia Tormenta FC defeated Toronto FC II 1-0 for the second time this week courtesy of a goal from Kobe Perez. The result was the Statesboro side's third-straight shutout win by the same scoreline.

Tormenta had more of the chances throughout the first half, and got their reward five minutes before the break. A nice flick from Azaad Liadi played in Perez, who squared up his defender before sweetly striking a left-footed shot into the top corner.

Both teams had chances throughout the first half, but South Georgia managed to keep its third-consecutive clean sheet and see out the victory. The win marks the first time Tormenta has won three straight games since 2019.

TFC II has another road match on Wednesday, when the Young Reds visit Fort Lauderdale CF. Tormenta FC has a week off before welcoming Greenville Triumph SC to Erk Russell Park next Saturday.
