The two rivals dueled to a scoreless draw in their first meeting of 2021

MADISON, Wisc. - In the first of four rivalry meetings between Forward Madison FC and the Richmond Kickers this season, the two sides dueled to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night at Breese Stevens Field.

As you might expect in a rivalry game, the first half saw plenty of physical play. The two teams combined for 12 fouls compared to three shots on target, but there were a handful of chances, the best perhaps when Richmond's Emiliano Terzaghi was denied by Madison goalkeeper Chris Brady.

The second half was similarly chippy, but like the first, neither team was able to find the net. The match ended scoreless - only the second 0-0 draw of the 2021 League One season so far, both of which have involved the Kickers.

Richmond returns home next Saturday to host Union Omaha, while Madison will welcome the New England Revolution II to Breese Stevens Field on the same day.

Christian Diaz, Forward Madison FC - Diaz did well in his usual role marauding up and down the right flank. He passed at an 84 percent success rate, created a chance, and won four duels on the night.
