The sides split the points in the final game of the Young Reds' Arizona stint

TUCSON, Ariz. - FC Tucson and Toronto FC II played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Kino North Stadium in the final game of the Young Reds' Arizona stint.

The two teams scored within five minutes of each other in the first half. TFC II got things going when Themi Antonoglou poked home his second goal of the season after 16 minutes. But Tucson responded quickly through Giovanni Calixtro, who headed in Daniel Bedoya's corner kick delivery.

During the second 45 minutes, both teams had a handful of chances, but each seemed more content coming away from the evening with one point rather than taking the risk of going for three. Tucson's Maxi Schenfeld was shown a second yellow card and sent off in the 86th minute, but the match would end all square - a third-consecutive 1-1 draw for Toronto.

TFC II will now relocate from its home base in Casa Grande, where it began its 2021 campaign, to central Florida for the month of June. The Young Reds welcome South Georgia Tormenta FC for their first pseudo-home match at Osceola Heritage Park on Wednesday, while Tucson is back at Kino North Stadium again next Saturday to host Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
