North Texas scored twice in 11 minutes to turn the game on its head in the second half

ARLINGTON, Texas - A furious 13-minute span saw North Texas SC fall behind before scoring twice to take the lead in the second half, earning the home side a 2-1 win over South Georgia Tormenta FC on Sunday night at Globe Life Park.

The first half was eventful, even with neither team finding the net. Both sides had a number of good looks at goal without converting. The home side shouted for a red card when Tormenta goalkeeper Pablo Jara brought down Bernard Kamungo just outside the area, but the referee ruled it as a yellow card offense.

The game was even more entertaining on the other side of halftime. Marco Micaletto opened the scoring for Tormenta with a thunderbolt of a long-range strike on 57 minutes, and it took only two minutes for North Texas to equalize through Alejandro Santana Viniegra.

The home team turned the game on its head 10 minutes later, when Jorge Imanol Almaguer's deflected shot found its way in. Both sides had chances late, but the 2-1 scoreline held up to give North Texas its second win of the season.

Next weekend, Tormenta hosts Greenville while North Texas travels to take on Toronto FC II in Arizona.
