TUCSON, Ariz. - Jake Keegan's equalizer for Forward Madison FC canceled out Deri Corfe's opener for FC Tucson, as the two sides split the points in a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Kino North Stadium.
After an even first half, the match sparked to life in the second period. Corfe pounced on a Madison defensive error to give Tucson the lead on 51 minutes, but it would take the Flamingos just 16 minutes to draw level.
Keegan, who was given a captain's armband by Madison Head Coach Carl Craig this week, broke in behind and clinically finished an opportunity in the 67th minute. It was the prolific forward's first goal for his new club, and the 15th of his League One career, equal with Toronto FC II's Jordan Perruzza for second-most in league history.
More of the opportunities after Keegan's equalizer fell Madison's way, but ultimately the two sides settled for a point each on the night.
