Both of Omaha's strikers got on the score sheet in the team's first match of 2021

PAPILLION, Neb. - Union Omaha's 2021 season got off to a perfect start on Saturday night at Werner Park, as goals from forwards Evan Conway and Greg Hurst sealed a 2-0 victory over South Georgia Tormenta FC for los Búhos.

Both sides showed plenty of bright attacking intent in the opening minutes, and it was Conway who opened the scoring on 22 minutes. The Union Omaha forward, who also scored the first goal in the Owls' home opener last season, broke behind the Tormenta backline and did well to beat goalkeeper Pablo Jara with a fine finish to the far post.

South Georgia continued to compile chances throughout the match, but couldn't quite find the back of the net. Hurst put the game out of reach in the 83rd minute, showing off the clinical finishing ability that served him well in Chattanooga last season. The Scottish striker picked up a loose ball with his back to goal, swiveled and fired a low shot to double the lead and give Omaha fans a taste of what's to come on his debut for the club.

Union Omaha is off for nearly two weeks before traveling to Fort Lauderdale CF on May 7, while Tormenta FC will return home looking to pick up their first points of the nascent season against FC Tucson next Saturday.
