Chattanooga Red Wolves SC has re-signed midfielder Amirgy Pineda, the club announced Sunday. The 2021 season will be Pineda’s third with the Red Wolves after having his 2020 season cut short due to injury.
"Ami's return for a third year solidifies the midfield we have been working hard to build,” said Chattanooga Head Coach Jimmy Obleda. “He's a very special player and brings an individual talent that can turn a game on its head."
Pineda has appeared in 25 matches and earned 16 starts during his two seasons with the Red Wolves. The 23-year-old midfielder scored one goal, tallied five assists and completed 15 dribbles in his 25 appearances. Pineda has created the third highest number of chances in club history despite playing just two matches in 2020.
Pineda is the 11th player to be added to Chattanooga’s 2021 roster, joining eight fellow returners and newcomers Jimmy Villalobos, Josue Espana, Jackson Dietrich, and Jose Carrera Garcia.
