Greenville’s Dallas Jaye Voted League One’s Goalkeeper of the Year

Triumph SC standout earns second consecutive award, adding to Golden Glove for title winners

TAMPA, Fla. – Over USL League One’s first two seasons, Greenville Triumph SC’s Dallas Jaye has set the standard for goalkeeping in the league.

On Wednesday, the Guam international was for a second consecutive season voted the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year after a campaign that saw him raise his performance to a higher level statistically while leading Greenville to its first league title.

Playing every minute of the regular season, Jaye posted a 0.69 goals-against average to earn his second consecutive League One Golden Glove, and raised his save percentage to 74.4 percent as he recorded 32 saves in 16 games while marshalling the best defense in League One. Jaye’s shutout rate also rose from 2019 as he recorded nine clean sheets in 16 games, seeing him record shutouts in 56.3 percent of contests.

Jaye’s performances through his first two seasons in League One have set the standard by which his contemporaries will be measured in the future.

Jaye earned 73 percent of the ballot to claim the award. Union Omaha’s Rashid Nuhu finished on 15 percent to take second place, while South Georgia Tormenta FC’s Pablo Jara finished third on 12 percent to finish third.

The 2020 USL League One Awards were voted on by team technical staffs and executives. Voting was conducted following the conclusion of the 2020 League One regular season.
