Neither team found the net at Hart Park on Saturday night

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Forward Madison FC and FC Tucson played out a scoreless draw on Saturday night at Hart Park, as neither side could find the net over the course of 90 minutes.

A frantic start to the game suggested there could be goals in it for both sides, but the match panned out differently. Madison defender Josiah Trimmingham nearly broke the deadlock in spectacular fashion before halftime, seeing his curling shot from the edge of the penalty area flash inches wide of the post.

Throughout the match, Tucson had more of the ball but didn't generate a single shot on target during the entirety of the game. FMFC generated some late pressure, but totaled just one shot on goal themselves and the teams split the points.

The result is sure to feel more like two points dropped for Madison, who are in hot pursuit of Omaha, Richmond and Chattanooga above them in the race for the second and final postseason place. For Tucson, nothing less than perfection from here on out is required if they are to make a run at second, and even that might not be enough.

Madison has a must-win matchup with Union Omaha on the horizon next Sunday, while Tucson continues its road trip with a midweek visit to South Georgia Tormenta FC.

SCORING SUMMARY
