Raul Aguilera Jr's second half penalty sees Orlando battle back to earn point at home

Raul Aguilera Jr's second-half penalty erased Austin Aviza's own goal as Orlando City B and South Georgia Tormenta FC played to a 1-1 draw Friday night at Osceola County Stadium.

Following the opening whistle, players from both sides remained still, united against racism, and in support of equality, diversity and compassion, for the opening seven minutes of the match.

When play resumed, Tormenta FC's Pato Botello Faz had the game's first chance near the 9 minute mark. The Mexican striker latched on to a wayward back pass from an OCB defender, but goalkeeper Austin Aviza was equal to his shot and punched it away.

Devyn Jambga went close ten minutes later, missing the target from five yards out after getting on the end of Marco Micaletto's low, teasing cross from the right flank.

The game's first goal came in the 29th minute when Orlando City B defender Thomas James played a long range back pass to Aviza that skipped under the goalkeeper's foot and into the net. The goal was scored as an own goal for Aviza.

Oralndo searched for a response before halftime, with Wilfredo Rivera curling a left footed shot just wide of Pablo Jara's right post in the 40th minute. The near miss would be the last chance of the half, leaving OCB down a goal at the break.

The hosts pressed for an equalizer early in the second half and were rewarded with a penalty after Josh Phelps handled a shot from Rivera near the six-yard box. Phelps was shown a yellow card for his denial of Rivera's shot, his second of the match, leaving Tormenta FC to play down a man for the final 30 mintues of the contest.

Aguilera Jr. converted the spot kick despite Jara getting finger tips to his shot to level the score.

With the man-advantage, Orlando controlled the majority of the play in the final third of the match. Kenji Tanka and Teddy Njde both saw shots narrowly miss the target before Jara denied Mason Lamb's first-time effort from 12 yards out with a brilliant diving save.

Lamb had a final chance to notch a game-winner in the 88th minute when he intercepted a loose pass from Jara with the goalkeeper 35 yards from his goal. The OCB forward attempted to chip Jara as he retreated to his goal, but his shot missed wide to the left and the two sides split the points.

With the draw, Tormenta FC moves into fourth place while Orlando City B remains in 11th place.
