The fundraiser was launched following the decision of the USL, Forward Madison, its players, supporters, and staff to postpone the club’s match this Sunday in an effort to bring greater attention to the fight against racial injustice and systemic oppression. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Forward Madison is playing its home matches in Milwaukee, just 45 minutes north of Kenosha, where the tragic shooting of Jacob Blake occurred last weekend.
