A pair of quality set piece deliveries from Michael Vang helped the Flamingos to victory

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Forward Madison FC created two goals from corner kicks and got a late insurance tally from Brandon Eaton on its way to an important 3-1 win over Orlando City B at Hart Park on Sunday.

A back-and-forth first half saw scoring chances for both sides. Forward Madison broke the deadlock from a corner on 19 minutes, when Michael Vang's delivery was turned in by Eli Lockaby to put the Flamingos up 1-0. It was the 19-year-old Vang's third assist in as many appearances.

OCB would equalize eight minutes before halftime through Mason Lamb. The Lions' Michael Halliday played in an excellent cross from the right flank, which Lamb nodded home for his first professional goal.

But Madison regained the lead shortly after the break, and Vang was involved again in creating the goal from a corner. Vang's ball  into the box in the 55th minute was flicked along before bouncing awkwardly off of Orlando defender Juan Pablo Monticelli and into the net.

After a lengthy weather delay in the 77th minute, Eaton scored his first goal in Forward Madison colors to seal the points for the home side, diving to head Don Smart's cross past OCB goalkeeper Austin Aviza.

The victory was an important one for Forward Madison, as it moved the Wisconsin club into third place in the League One table. The team now sit two points behind second-place Richmond, though it has played one more game than the Kickers and two more than Union Omaha, with whom it is tied on points.

Even so, after picking up just one point in their first three matches, the Flamingos earned seven from their next three, a turnaround in form that is sure to have boosted the mood in the dressing room.

Meanwhile, the wait for a first clean sheet of the season goes on for Orlando City B. The Lions gave a decent account of themselves on Sunday, but next step for OCB is figuring out how to turn promising periods of play in to complete 90-minute performances.

Next weekend, Madison welcomes defending title-winners North Texas SC to Hart Park as it continues its pursuit of the top-two spots in the standings, while OCB returns home to take on South Georgia Tormenta FC.

Note: Due to technical difficulties, the first Forward Madison goal was not captured on camera.
