TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One announced on Thursday that Greenville Triumph SC’s Jake Keegan had been named Player of the Month for July after the standout forward recorded three goals in three games during Triumph SC’s undefeated start to the season.
Keegan was pleased to have claimed the honor but is also focused on what’s ahead as the side looks to go one better this season after reaching the League One Final in in its inaugural campaign.
“I’m pleased that we’ve started strong, but at the end of the day, it comes down to the season as a whole,” said Keegan. “That’s the mindset we all have, it’s certainly a mindset that I have, and one that will continue to be at the forefront throughout the next few months.”
Keegan led Greenville with nine goals in the 2019 League One season but saw his season cut short before the postseason as he was sidelined due to a foot injury sustained in early August. The New York native has been back in top form since Greenville’s return, scoring in both the club’s season-opening victory against Fort Lauderdale CF before recording a brace in a 3-2 win against the Richmond Kickers that earned him League One Player of the Week honors for the first time.
Keegan was selected as League One’s Player of the Month by the USL League One Technical Committee.
