Fort Lauderdale keeper's leaping stop rises to top of poll

TAMPA, Fla. – League One goalkeepers put in impressive performances in Week 4, with shots coming thick and fast as teams began to find their footing in the attacking third. We picked out three of the best saves of the week, now you get to vote on which one will earn USL League One Fans’ Choice Save of the Week.

Voting will continue through 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday, August 14.

Dylan Castanheira (FTL) - #TRMvFTL, 8/8/20: Castanheira dove full stretch to his left to keep Nil Vinyals’ first-time effort that looked destined for the top corner out. The fingertip save proved decisive as Fort Lauderdale CF picked up its first win in club history, defeating Tormenta FC 2-1 in Statesboro.

Carlos Merancio Valdez (TUC) - #TUCvOMA, 8/8/20: Merancio Valdez was called into action early in his first start for FC Tucson, diving to his right to get fists to JP Scearce’s stinging half volley from 20 yards out in his side’s 2-1 loss to Union Omaha.  

Carlos Avilez (NTX) - #NTXvCHA, 8/8/20: Avilez got his positioning spot on and reacted quickly to get his left hand to Ricky Ruiz’s firs-time shot from 18 yards out in North Texas SC’s 2-2 draw with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC .
