RICHMOND, Va. – WTVR CBS 6 will broadcast the Richmond Kickers’ remaining 14 regular season matches on local television, the partners announced Wednesday. WTVR CBS 6.3 also aired the first two matches of the Kickers’ season, a 3-2 loss to Greenville Triumph SC and a 0-0 draw with South Georgia Tormenta FC.
“We are happy to continue our long-standing partnership with CBS 6,” said Amy Neal, VP of Partnerships for the Kickers. “Since 2017, WTVR has been a vital partner of the Kickers, establishing a television home for one of the historic clubs in the country. In these unprecedented times we are living in, having a strong television partner helps fans keep track of the Kickers, even when they are not able to be at City Stadium.”
The partnership between the Kickers and WTVR CBS 6 began prior to the 2017 season. Since then, both entities have worked closely together on several projects, most recently being the #RallyTogether Fund, which provided 16,000 meals to the RVA community through Feed More.
“It’s a privilege for CBS 6 to bring live professional soccer to fans throughout Central Virginia on our broadcast and streaming platforms,” commented Stephen Hayes, WTVR CBS 6 General Manager.
The Kickers are back in action this Saturday as the club hosts Forward Madison FC at City Stadium.
