South Georgia Tormenta FC and the Richmond Kickers split the points as the two sides ended goalless in Tuesday night's contest at Erk Russell Park.
Tormenta FC created the only real chance of the first half, utilizing a quick counter attack to find Marco Micaletto in space on the left flank. Micaletto cut in on his favored right foot, but Richmond goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald dove quickly to his right to get fingertips to his shot and touch it around the post.
Richmond's Ryley Kraft nearly broke the deadlock 15 minutes into the second half after Mutaya Mwape's deflected shot fell kindly to him inside the six-yard box, but he mishit his shot and knocked it straight into goalkeeper Pablo Jara's hands.
Micaletto went close again in the 79th minute, putting a first-time shot on frame from the top of the penalty area but Fitzgerald was equal to it parrying it away for a corner.
Jonathan Bolanos created the best opportunity of the game in the 86th minute, skipping past his defender to the endline and driving a cross in behind the Tormenta back four towards Emiliano Terzaghi, but the Argentine striker's header was right at Jara and the match remained scoreless.
The draw earns the Kickers their first point under new Head Coach and Sporting Director Darren Sawatzky, while Tormenta FC moves to two points on the year after back-to-back home draws .
