Daniel Jackson scored in the dying moments of Saturday night’s match against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC to salvage a point for South Georgia Tormenta FC at Erk Russell Stadium.
Ricardo Gomez put Marco Micaletto in behind the Chattanooga defense with a first-time through ball inside of the first ten minutes of the match. Micaletto dribbled into the penalty area and cut back onto his left foot before finishing past Alex Mangels.
Chattanooga equalized early on in the second half as Greg Hurst capped off a great passage of play with a well-struck shot that found the bottom corner of Pablo Jara’s goal.
Hurst doubled his tally and pulled the Red Wolves in front nine minutes later, heading home Amirgy Pineda’s cross with a diving effort from eight yards out.
Daniel Jackson drew the sides level again in the 91st minute finishing Mikie Rowe’s cutback from three yards out.
With the draw, Tormenta FC and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC sit tied on points with Union Omaha and New England Revolution II following the expansion sides’ draw earlier in the day.
