FC Tucson has acquired goalkeeper Amal Knight on loan from first-year USL Championship side San Diego Loyal, the clubs announced Wednesday. Knight joins goalkeepers Carlos Merancio and Rafael Gurrero on FCT’s 2020 roster.

Knight has earned eight caps for the Jamaican National Team since making his debut in 2018. The 26-year old goalkeeper most recently played for UWI FC in the Red Stripe Premier League where he played in more than 100 matches over six seasons.

Knight signed with San Diego Loyal in February of 2020 ahead of the club’s inaugural season. He played with the first-year side through preseason and prior to USL Championship’s suspension of play in March.
