Club’s three-week campaign raised over $40,000 for COVID-19 relief

Greenville Triumph SC closed out its three-week Match to Triumph campaign by selling out the virtual match at Legacy Early College. The club sold more than 4,000 tickets to raise over $40,000 for United Way of Greenville County’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Throughout the campaign, Greenville’s social media team matched fundraising milestones with highlights from the 2019 season, crediting donors with goals, assists, and saves on Twitter and Facebook. For every 1,000 tickets sold, the Triumph scored a goal in the virtual match.

As the team neared its $40,000 goal, Head Coach John Harkes and players Paul Clowes, Aaron Walker, and Jake Keegan encouraged fans to continue to purchase tickets with video messages on social media. The Triumph reached its $40,000 goal on the final day of the campaign.

The money raised through the Match to Triumph campaign will be used to provide personal protective equipment for frontline healthcare workers, rent and mortgage assistance community members in need, restock shelves at food pantries, and expand local domestic shelter services.
