The Richmond Kickers and WTVR CBS 6 raised over $4,000 for Feed More during the three-week long #RallyTogether fundraiser the club announced Friday morning. The money raised equates to 16,000 meals for members of the Richmond community in need.
During the fundraiser, fans purchased rally towels for $10 which included a ticket to a Kickers’ home match. For every ticket purchased, the Kickers will donate a ticket to healthcare workers through Bon Secours.
“We are so thankful to our supporters and the general soccer community for coming together and assisting us in our goal to raise awareness and money benefitting Feed More and their incredible efforts to feed RVA!” said Rob Ukrop, Kickers Chairman.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic increased the need for essential services like Feed More, central Virginia was already in great need. Feed More’s programs are dedicated to providing healthy meals and hope for a better tomorrow to Central Virginians who face hunger. For every $1 donated, Feed More is able to provide four meals to those in need. In total, Feed More’s programs and network of agencies provide more than 52,000 meals each day to neighbors in need across 34 counties and cities across Central Virginia.
With the support of the community, their programs distribute nutritious meals and wholesome food to the neighbors who need it most. With one in seven Central Virginians struggling with hunger, Feed More’s programs aim to help our neighbors when they need a hand up.
