At option, clubs now able to enter Phase II training protocols

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship and League One Task Forces, in conjunction with an affirmative vote by Championship and League One Board of Governors, have implemented Phase II training protocols, effective yesterday. While these protocols are consistent across all leagues and teams, in order to be implemented they must be in alignment with all local and state health authority guidance.

As part of the Phase II protocols, Championship and League One are now permitted to:

  • Expand non-contact training taking place on outdoor fields to include up to groups of ten
  • Allow coaches to provide technical instruction
  • Open weight room facilities
  • Expand player treatment beyond rehabilitative purposes

The USL Championship has set a provisional return to play date of July 11, while League One has a provisional return to play date of July 18.
