South Georgia Tormenta FC has signed goalkeeper Parker Siegfried, the club announced Wednesday afternoon. Siegfried joins Pablo Jara and Stephen O’Hearn in the group of goalkeepers on Tormenta FC’s 2020 roster.

After graduating from Ohio State University in 2019, Siegfried was selected 74th overal by New York City FC in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. During his time as a Buckeye, the 6-2 goalkeeper captained the side for two seasons and finished his career with 18 career shutouts. Siegfried has experience with the U.S. Youth National Teams, appearing for the U-14, U-15, and U-18 sides.

"Parker strongly completes our goalkeeper core,” Tormenta FC Head Coach John Miglarese said. “He is coming off a superb college career and will add quality and depth to our team. In the few weeks Parker has trained with us, he’s shown he clearly belongs at Tormenta FC."

Despite being the club’s newest signing, Siegfried has fully embraced Tormenta FC’s commitment to the Statesboro community. Siegfried joined the St. Matthews sewing circle to make masks for help stop the spread of COVID-19.

“I couldn’t be happier to sign my first professional contract with Tormenta FC,” Siegfried said. “I want to thank the ownership group and the coaching staff for everything they have done. They have been fantastic since the day I got down here. I’m excited to get going with the boys and help the club however I can.”
