FC Tucson has signed forward Shakeem Adams for the 2020 season, the club announced Thursday. Adams joins FCT from Nashville SC where he spent preseason with the MLS club.

Prior to being drafted in the MLS SuperDraft in January, Adams played four seasons at Florida Gulf Coast University. Known for his pace, Adams scored 23 goals and added 16 assists in 71 matches at FGCU.

Nashville SC drafted Adams with the second pick of the third round of the MLS SuperDraft. The Nashville, Tennessee native traveled with the MLS club to Florida for preseason but was released after the first leg of the tour.  Nashville SC Head Coach Gary Smith was complimentary of Adams after seeing him in camp.

"There's no question about how determined he is," Smith told the Tennessean on Tuesday. “He's got ridiculous pace and probably the quickest player, off the mark, that I've seen in a long time."

FC Tucson also announced the signing of Manu Ferriol Thursday afternoon. Ferriol will be added to FC Tucson’s roster pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.
