Inaugural USL League One Title-winners North Texas SC have loaned midfielder Arturo Rodriguez to USL Championship title holders Real Monarchs SLC, the clubs announced Thursday. The loan is for the entire 2020 season and gives the Monarchs an option to buy.

Rodriguez led the way for North Texas SC in the club’s inaugural season, scoring seven goals and tallying a league-high ten assists as Eric Quill’s side captured the regular season title. Rodriguez went on to score the lone goal in the USL League One Final to help NTSC claim the first-ever league crown.

A native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Rodriguez collected multiple awards during his first professional season. In addition to being named USL League One MVP, Rodriguez earned USL Young Player of the Year, League One Final MVP, All-League First Team honors and claimed the Assists Champion award.

Rodriguez becomes the fourth League One player to make a move to the Monarchs ahead of the 2020 season. He’ll join Joe Gallardo (Richmond Kickers), Chris Bermudez (Greenville Triumph SC), and Devin Vega (FC Tucson) on the Championship side’s squad next season.
